ETG Boosts BSC Filters with Quaser

Based in York, BSC Filters specialises in the manufacture of microwave filters, diplexers, wave-guide, and coaxial passive components. Over the course of the past twelve months, BSC has experienced a 22% growth in business, primarily thanks to increasing demand from the military sector for complex components.

In order to meet this demand, BSC required additional capacity, so they contacted ETG. We were able to assess their unique needs and recommend the best solution.Quaser machine

ETG subsequently provided BSC Filters with a Quaser MV134 EH vertical machining centre. This advanced VMC is equipped with a 12,000 rev/min spindle, 30 tools, the latest in swarf management technology, and a Heidenhain control.

The machine was recommended thanks to its efficiency, compact footprint, rigidity and accuracy.

Equipped with the tools necessary to act upon their increased demand, BSC Filters expects continued growth into 2020, and is now looking to convert one of their old Quaser machines to equip it for 4-axis machining.

ETG Regional Sales Manager, Lee Adamson, stated: “The Quaser is proving to be a popular machine with sub-contract manufacturers, and it is not difficult to see why. The compact footprint means that it can be easily fitted onto the shopfloor, and it offers outstanding performance — thanks in part to the high-precision linear guideway that is used in three axes.”
