ETG Provides ‘Access for All’

As a society, we are becoming more and more aware of the imperative to accommodate those with accessibility needs. Subsequently, within the manufacturing industry, ETG has acknowledged this and has invested heavily in its online presence, making the website more inclusive for disabled users by conforming to the WCAG 2.1 AA standard. 

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard defines how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Accessibility involves a wide range of disabilities that range from visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning and neurological disabilities. This stringent level of criteria for improving inclusivity is generally reserved for public sector services. However, ETG has made a conscious decision to take its online presence and inclusivity beyond the minimal levels of its rivals to create a truly inclusive and comfortable customer experience for all website users.    

Following these guidelines will make content more accessible to a wider range of people with assisted needs. This includes accommodating those with blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, limited movement, speech impairment, photosensitivity and combinations of these as well as some accommodation for learning disabilities and cognitive limitations. It will not address the needs of every user with assisted needs, though. By conforming to the WCAG 2.1 AA standard, ETG has set an inclusive framework in place that addresses the accessibility of its web content on desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile devices. Following these guidelines should ensure, in general, web content is more user-friendly and accessible.
