ETG opens its Permanent Trade Show … an all year round showcase

5 UK debuts for new machine tools

12 fully operational machines

Range of demonstrations

ETG debuted five new machine tools at the June opening of its Permanent Trade Show (PTS) in addition to demonstrating the capabilities of 12 fully operational machines.

Launched across three days in June the trade show will now become a permanent feature at the ETG Southam headquarters.

Also showcased were over 20 of ETG’s partner suppliers who had a presence in the PTS hall with representatives present to discuss products ranging from toolholding, workholding, software, cutting

tools and inserts, fixturing, lubricants and workpiece materials.

Machine tool showcase …

Among the new machines on view for the first time were two Nakamura-Tome machining centres, the AS200LMSY and the NTRX 300.

The AS200LMSY is a long bed version of the highly regarded AS200 with added milling capability while the NTRX 300 is a remarkable 7 axis

machine with the capability of one-hit, complete component machining from a single set up.

A Nakamura NTY3 completed the line-up, this being a triple turret, triple Y axis high performance machine with opposed twin spindles.

Hardinge Bridgeport had three UK debutants – the high specification Conquest V1000 VMC, the Conquest H51 and the Hardinge

GT27SP.

The V1000 combines a very high specification with the versatility to make it a great ‘all-rounder’ in the machine shop.

The Conquest H51 is available in HP or SP versions while the Quest GT27 is a super precision lathe with grinding capability.

A further three Hardinge Bridgeport machines were fully operational – the GS51 high precision horizontal turning centre; the GX480

Bridgeport performance VMC and drill/tap centre and a XR760 compact, high performance VMC.

A Chiron Baseline FZ15W 3 axis twin pallet VMC was also featured, one of the family of new generation Chiron machines that combine the performance benefits of high end German machine tools within the budget of the subcontracting sector.

The PTS opening event machine display was completed with two top specification Quaser machines – the MV214P long bed high performance VMC and the MF400U 5 axis machining centre.
